About me

Giving yourself …“ To me this is about experiencing vitality in meetings.

I am blessed to serve life non-judgementally, always guided by my teacher – phenomenology – and by an inner navigation, in a way that perpetuates it vibrantly. In every new meeting with individuals, groups, and theme constellations, life teaches me something new.

Being a member of a large family and caring for an elderly grand aunt, who lived with us, taught me independence and acknowledgment of anything affiliated: The awareness of everyone, responsibility in general, the connection of young and old, healthy people and those in need of care, integration of all personality traits, without neglecting individual development.

Growing up without social media, and constantly being creative with simple elements of nature formed my personality and benefited my social and creative skills.

Long experience in nursing and health care, and especially night duty in a clinic with psychosomatic background supported my therapeutic competences essentially. Emergencies during night shifts gave me opportunities to holistically perceive the situation and provide complex assistance, where fear was threatening or the heart convulsing, where the breathing was in focus or where pain was subtly claiming attention.

Additionally, encountering the absolute limits – even the physical limit of death – in most different phases of life, nursing care and therapeutic company made me mature significantly. Eventually, my last “official” duty as a nurse during night shift was the vigil of the death of my mother-in-law. My professional background consistently mirrored developmental processes in my private life.

This posture of awareness and considering its effects are the essential orientation of my work.

What we have in mind is what shapes us, this is what we become. We get where we look.”
– Heinrich Spaemann (1903 – 2001)

With Roots – Without (Swimming) Wings

My childhood on a rural farm, surrounded by a large family, has had a lasting impact on me.

Connection to nature, teamwork, and a resource-conscious way of life are part of my roots.

Early on, Lake Constance became my chosen home.

As a Scorpio, I feel particularly at ease in the elements of earth and water.

The possibility of living car-free, the year-round access to the lake in Überlingen just a few minutes’ walk away, and the occasional stays at the Schöngeisterhof in Unterlimpach significantly contribute to my work-life balance.

My friend Karin Ilg dedicates herself with exceptional commitment, innovation, and heartfelt passion to her family’s farm, where she practices permaculture, offers certified organic holiday apartments, and much more.

Some seasonal products can be purchased on-site at the office.

Elixir of life

Gratitude

The positive effects of a consistent gratitude practice are well-known. Gratitude can be practised and experienced in a variety of ways.

I grew up a farmer’s child in the country, the fourth of six children — far away from television, computers or mobile phones, in a remote rural hamlet. Embedded in a religious family, I experienced the humility of attitude that arose from everyday gratitude amidst changing seasons, tilling and harvesting fields, living alongside animals, and depending on external circumstances such as the weather.

Experiencing a “little happiness” is still a blessed treasure for me today. My practice of gratitude rituals, including during my daily swim in the lake, are indispensable. I find myself in an almost holy experience, with a deep transformational quality, when I give thanks in times of extremity, forms of abuse, injustice and isolated despair.

Opening the subconscious mind to the fact that there is a deeper maturation process behind each challenge, and acknowledging that the environment can be an active part of the process, shifts the focus from the victim to the process of change. With an attitude of gratitude, I create resilience and the ability to act. In my 30 years of systemic work, I have found that every person with German roots carries both victim and perpetrator genes in the afterlife of the First and Second World Wars. Actively dealing with this history by questioning the experiences of ancestors and including local history helps you to cope with life in the here and now, powerfully and decisively… and supports you to live on, fully.

Winter swimming – A sea of vitality

We are currently reading a lot about how swimming in cold water positively stimulates blood circulation and improves the function of the immune system, so that the body is better protected against infections. Endorphins are released, the mood is lifted and energy is released. Testosterone and estrogen levels are also said to increase. I notice how I reduce conscious and unconscious stress. By focusing on the effect of the cold, my gaze is drawn away from the everyday life and clears my head. Overall, regular practice leads to a general resistance to cold. It is also discussed that the insulin in the body works better when exposed to cold. My rule of thumb for how long to stay in the water in winter is 1 minute per degree Celsius °C.

The increased noradrenaline level has a positive effect on the psyche and the sensation of pain. As a hypotonic, I always notice a morning boost of energy. Armed with a bathing suit and – in sub-zero temperatures also with gloves to prevent my hands from freezing to the metal access ladder – I go to Lake Constance, 150 meters away. After the bath in the ice cold lake water, a dry bath towel, socks and a warming cup of tea are ready and waiting for me. For me, it was a slow process of growing in discipline, routine and creative freedom. While in the first winter I assumed that only by overcoming the cold every single day would I be able to persevere in the exercise, today I have the freedom to skip some mornings because of a changed schedule without falling out of my routine.

Answers to questions that I had not previously thought through in consciousness.

It is immersion in a density of “YES”, of “BEING WHOLE” – a “FURTHER”…especially in times of

searching for orientation, emotional chaos and worries. There I repeatedly feel this encouragement: “the answer is within you……”

My safe drug – Winter swimming in regional standing water

Every cell in my body experiences an energy output…muscle, nerve, thrombocytes, cartilage, red and white blood cells, and much more. This lively and at the same time sustaining “quality of being” – self-sufficient, pushed and shaped, allows me to start the day in focused density, cheerfully and at the same time mindfully …in this attitude…it carries….FURTHER.

My work

Not in your head, but in your heard is the beginning.“
– M.Gorki

My work is about accompanying people with a concern. This concern is defined during the initial contact and clarified in the mutual work.

The 3 focus areas are.

  • Creative expression and its therapeutic settings: Expressive painting, artistic expressive therapy, effects, three-dimensional modelling with clay

  • Systemic coaching with single groups or organisations – Value theories and definition coaching, coaching for managers and companies, structure and organisation constellation work

  • Systemic-phenomenologic family therapy with different methods from constellation work

Constellations, attention to the child, dealing with death, rituals

Professional coaching and close therapeutic work go along with a good personal contact and perceptible trust.
